A landmark for companies looking at Iran.

Why we are here

I have spent fifteen years working between European and Iranian business. At Business France’s Tehran office, I helped French companies enter the Iranian market. At Carrefour Iran, I spent eight years on the buying side, most recently running procurement, investment and M&A. Along the way, I watched many foreign companies arrive, and many leave.

Today, Iran is hard to see clearly from outside. Prices move week by week, official figures arrive late or not at all, and most international coverage stops at the headlines.

Sarv means cypress. In Abarkuh, in the desert of central Iran, a cypress has stood for more than four thousand years. For travellers crossing the desert, it was a sign that life was near. Our name carries that idea: a cypress in sight.

We believe that, one way or another, this market of 90 million people will open again. When it does, it will not open quietly. Companies from Europe, Asia and the Gulf will arrive at the same time, all looking for the same partners, suppliers, sites and people. Those who already understand the market, its prices, its rules and the way deals are really made, will be at the front of the line. Those who start learning on that day will find a crowded line ahead of them.

So don’t wait for the market. Study it now, while it is quiet and learning costs almost nothing.

That is why we are here. From Tehran, we follow the economy every week and check every number we publish. Our Weekly Snapshot is free. When you need more, such as a market, a sector, a partner or a price, we tell its story in a study built around your question.

The door is not open yet. This is the time to prepare.

How we work

We are independent. We have no affiliation with any government, political party or state body, and our work is strictly economic and business analysis.

We report the free-market rate next to the official one, because that is the price business actually pays. We check figures on the ground before we print them, and when we are not sure, we say so.
